We’ve known each other for a long time—technically since middle school—but life had other plans before we actually became us. Fast forward to May 2017, when we ran into each other at the beach. We decided to team up as washer partners and after a few games of washers we haven't left each others side. That night, we made a handshake after winning together… a quirky little promise we’ll keep right before our first kiss as husband and wife.

From there, we started dating and went through college side-by-side, first at Lamar University and then through nursing school together—first as LVNs, now as RNs. Today, we work at the same hospital: Haylee in the Emergency Department and Michael in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. It’s not the easiest work, but we get to cheer each other on through every shift and every milestone.

Along the way, our little family grew to include Moose (August 2, 2019) and Mazie (August 12, 2025), two dogs who keep our lives full of love, ruined dog toys with stuffing throughout the house and muddy paw prints.

Eight years later, we’re still each other’s biggest supporters—through school, careers, and life’s twists. This wedding is our way of celebrating not just our marriage, but the people who have been cheering us on every step of the way.
